30 Hour OSHA Construction Safety

Local Law 196 of 2017 mandates completion of OSHA training for all workers & supervisors
employed within the Five Boroughs on certain size projects.  These individuals are required to provide
evidence of completion of the 30-HR OSHA Construction Safety Outreach Training program by December 1st 2018.

The OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry Outreach Training course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in the construction industry. the program provides complete information on OSHA compliance issues.

Upon successful class completion, Students will receive their 30 hour OSHA card within 2-3 weeks.

4 Hour User Scaffold

This course provides students with knowledge of scaffold hazards, fall protection, and safe work practices.
Topics covered but not limited to is as follows:

  • Identify the types, nomenclature and definitions of a scaffold.
  • List and identity the different types of fall protection needed when working on a scaffold.
  • Recognize the permit requirements needed in order to comply with Chapter 33 of the Building Code.
  • Describe and identify common supported scaffold hazards.
  • Classify the Federal and City scaffold regulations.

NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace 8 Hr Program

This course covers safety-related work practices and procedures in NFPA70E
including (but not limited to) the following:

  • Explain the purpose of NFPA 70E
  • Describe the electrical hazards in the workplace, including electric shock, arc flash and arc blast
  • Explain the general requirements for maintaining electrical safety in the workplace, including PPE, approach boundaries, the arc flash boundary and working while exposed to electrical hazards
  • Explain communications required between host and contract employers and training requirements for qualified and unqualified persons
  • Describe the elements of an electrical safety program, including program principles, controls and procedures; risk assessment; auditing; and job briefing

Power Industrial Vehicle Training 4 Hr Course

Powered industrial truck operators shall receive initial training
including (but not limited to) the following:

  • Operating instructions, warnings, and precautions for the types of truck the operator will be authorized to operate.
  • Differences between the truck and the automobile.
  • Truck controls and instrumentation: where they are located, what they do, and how they work.
  • Engine or motor operation.
  • Steering and maneuvering.
  • Visibility (including restrictions due to loading).
  • Fork and attachment adaptation, operation, and use limitations.
  • Vehicle capacity.
  • Vehicle stability.
  • Any vehicle inspection and maintenance that the operator will be required to perform.
  • Refueling and/or charging and recharging of batteries.
  • Operating limitations.
